Construction and concession of the alternative route to the A-45 motorway that runs perpendicular to the Malaga coast and links Malaga Province with inland Spain. Joins the A-45 dual carriageway and accesses Villanueva de Cauche and Colmenar, and also accesses Malaga’s second ring road and Puerto de la Torre.
The project includes the construction of 3 double tunnels and 18 double viaducts in order to overcome the orographic difficulties. The 3 double tunnels will be 2,212 metres long per carriageway. The viaducts will have a surface area of over 175,000 m2, the most notable being Viaduct 12.7, which will have a deck of over 25,000 m2 and 60 metre high piers.
