Sacyr renews the registration in the carbon footprint registry

Sacyr has renewed the registration of its corporate carbon footprint in the Carbon Footprint, Offset and Carbon Dioxide Absorption Projects Registry of the Ministry for Ecological Transition, with the incorporation of emissions corresponding to 2017.

Since 2015, the company has registered the carbon footprint within the Calculation section and has renewed, for the third year, the seal of an entity committed to the fight against climate change. The registration of three footprints is the preliminary step to be able to attain the second level of recognition, Reduction, a challenge which is already being faced.

This renewal entails a significant added value to Sacyr before customers and investors who integrate environmental sustainability into its business model, by incorporating it as complementary information in environmental sections or as a point-scoring requirement in terms of energy and climate change in bids.

Within its responsibility in the fight against climate, Sacyr believes the management of CO 2 is a priority action within its organization, which offers important opportunities for the growth, development and competitiveness of its companies, and which contributes to improve the environment, the society and the future.

Measuring the carbon footprint allows us to establish objectives and initiatives with the aim to improve energy efficiency, optimizing the consumption of resources and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

This registration, which is voluntarily requested by Sacyr and which includes all its activities in Spain, can be checked at the following address of the Ministry for Ecological Transition:
