Sacyr has signed a collaboration agreement with US company Manhattan Construction Group to jointly undertake projects relating to infrastructure, concessions, industry (oil & gas, water, energy) and the environment (waste treatment) in the United States.
The agreement contemplates that both companies, as a consortium, will issued by both state agencies and private entities within the US.

Sacyr will bring its experience in over 20 countries by way of its subsidiaries: Sacyr Concesiones in the development, financing and management of domestic and international infrastructures; Sacyr Construcción in projects that require major technical and technological capacity for all manner of civil works infrastructures (roads, hydraulic facilities, airports, rail, etc.) and building construction; and Sacyr Industrial in the design and construction of a wide variety of industrial facilities (oil & gas and electricity), desalination plants, drinking water plants and waste treatment plants.
Manhattan Construction Group is a company with vast experience in construction and industrial projects in the Mid-Atlantic, southwestern and southeastern states of the US, as well as Mexico, Central American countries and the Caribbean. Through its subsidiaries Manhattan Construction, in charge of designing and managing building construction projects; Manhattan Road and Bridge, which handles infrastructure projects; Manhattan Pipeline, focusing on construction and rendering of services for the oil & gas industry; and Cantera Concrete, which specialises in all types of concrete.
Internationalisation of Sacyr
This agreement bolsters the policy of strong internationalisation that Sacyr is incorporating into its growth strategy, as well as consolidating its presence on the continent, where the construction division already operates in Mexico, Chile, Bolivia, Colombia, Peru, Brazil and Panama. Sacyr’s vast technical and technological expertise has enabled the company to win contracts in over 20 countries on five continents. Such diversification means that 81% of the company’s works portfolio corresponds to overseas contracts. Sacyr heads an international consortium that is successfully executing the Panama Canal expansion works.
For Sacyr Concesiones, this represents a great opportunity for growth as it boasts consolidated domestic and international activities with a portfolio of 34 assets in six countries and committed investment in ongoing projects of over 3 billion euros.
Sacyr Industrial is also forging ahead with its growth targets in global industrial activity where it already has projects underway in Australia, the UK, Bolivia, Mexico and Peru, in addition to Spain, through various undertakings within the sectors of oil & gas, electricity infrastructures, power plants and waste treatment.
