Madrid City Council Department of Equality, Social Rights and Employment has awarded the Home Care Service (SAD) for the Madrid districts of Centre, Arganzuela, Moncloa-Aravaca, Latina and Carabanchel to the Sacyr subsidiary Valoriza Servicios a la Dependencia. The contract is worth 154 million euros and is awarded initially for three years, renewable for a further 3, meaning the business portfolio, including the possible extensions, amounts to 308 million euros.
Valoriza Servicios a la Dependencia will provide home care services to 16,000 users every month, with a total of 2,500 employees dedicated to this contract.
The aim of the Home Care Service is to promote personal autonomy and independence, allowing people to stay in their homes longer and enjoy the highest quality of life possible. This is achieved through individualized professional support focused on prevention, care and rehabilitation, including personal assistance (personal hygiene, home mobility, help with eating, amongst others), domestic chores (cleaning, grocery shopping and cooking, basic upkeep of home equipment and personal belongings, etc.), along with a range of more specialist interventions.
The Home Care Service is aimed at senior citizens aged over 65 who have personal autonomy issues or require support, along with persons of all ages who have been registered as disabled by Madrid Regional Government.
This contract consolidates the Sacyr subsidiary as one of the leading companies in the disability support sector, since it now offers home care services not only in Madrid but also for the city councils of Barcelona, Badalona, Albacete, Guadalajara, Teruel, Santiago de Compostela, Lugo, Ferrol and Puerto de Santamaría, and the provincial councils of Jaén, Ávila and Zamora, among others. Valoriza also runs a total of 35 residential centers throughout Spain.
