Sacyr will build El Callao sports center and the National University of San Marcos Stadium for the Pan American Games in Lima (Peru) for 44 million euros
• The new sports center will accommodate 6,100 people and will house the volleyball and taekwondo competitions. The Coliseum will host the wrestling competitions and San Marcos Stadium, which can hold up to 33,000 spectators, will house the soccer competition.
Sacyr, in a consortium with Saceem, will build a new sports center in El Callao’s Regional Sports Village and will remodel the National University of San Marcos stadium and the Miguel Grau Coliseum for the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima (Peru) for a total amount of 43.7 million euros.
The project includes the design and construction of a new sports center in El Callao’s Regional Sports Village, which will include competition and warm up areas and will accommodate 6,100 spectators. The 17,600 m2 sports center will host the volleyball and taekwondo competitions of the Pan American Games.
The contract also includes the design, remodeling and expansion of the Miguel Grau Coliseum, with a capacity for 2,400 spectators, which will house the wrestling competitions. Furthermore, it will carry out the design, remodeling and expansion of the soccer stadium of the National University of San Marcos (UNMSM), which can accommodate 33,000 spectators.
The Sacyr and Saceem consortium is also building the Andrés Avelino Cáceres sports center which will host the baseball, rugby, hockey, softball, water polo, Basque pelota and “pelota frontón” competitions.
The 18th Pan American Games in Lima 2019 will bring together some 6,700 athletes who will participate in 62 sporting disciplines.
