Sacyr awarded new contract in Australian water treatment
• The company, in a consortium with Westforce Construction, will upgrade the groundwater treatment plant in Neerabup (Perth) for an amount of 33 million euros.
A consortium formed by Sacyr Industrial and Westforce Construction has been selected by the Water Corporation of Western Australia to build the expansion of the existing groundwater treatment plant at Neerabup, located in the northern suburbs of Perth.
The contract value is 33 million euros (AUD$52 million dollars) and the construction period is 15 months.
This is the sixth contract awarded to Sacyr since its arrival in Australia, which consolidates the Group as a leading company in water treatment technologies.
The Neerabup Groundwater Scheme Expansion contract is EPC, or turn-key, and includes detailed engineering, supply of equipment and materials, civil construction and electromechanical installation, as well as testing and commissioning services.
Enlargement of the capacity
With this project, Water Corporation will expand the treatment capacity of the groundwater treatment plant from 100,000 m3 per day currently to 150,000 m3 per day.
