Sacyr Concessions successfully secures €58 million in financing for Arica Airport (Chile)
- The funds will go toward expanding and improving the current terminal, the estimated investment of which is €73 million.
Sacyr Concessions has successfully secured €58 million in financing for the Arica Airport (Chile) expansion work, managed by Sociedad Concesionaria Aeropuerto de Arica for a term of 15 years.
The transaction, entered into with the Banco Estado de Chile (Chilean State Bank), is further recognition by the Chilean financial system of the company's experience in the country and the group's positive business development.
The funds will be allocated to the improvement of the current terminal and its expansion from 5,352 m2 to 11,592 m2. It is expected that this will allow the facility to cater for approximately 1,145,000 passengers annually.
The project, the estimated investment of which is some €73 million, also involves the installation of five new departure gates (replacing the existing two gates), increasing the parking capacity from four to seven aircraft, and the expansion of vehicle access out of the airport and pedestrian access to the interior, thus facilitating movements around the site.
Furthermore, new aeronautical facilities will be built, such as a control tower, an administrative building, a logistics building, a rescue and fire-fighting service building and its platform, an aeronautical electric substation, an ARO (air traffic services reporting office) building, access control points and a ground fuel facility, among other work.
