Sacyr today received the certification as a Company Adhered to the Commitment Integra for its support integrating marginalized and disabled people into its workforce. In three months, Sacyr has hired 109 people with the help of the foundation, mainly through Sacyr Facilities.
Miguel Heras, Corporate General Manager of Sacyr, today recognized this certification that “forms part of Sacyr’s Social Corporate Responsibility, within our commitment to the social transformation of society and the generation of responsible and quality employment. Integrating people at risk of exclusion and disabled people into the workforce is a strategic focus for achieving our social objectives.”
New hires
“Within Sacyr’s Diversity Plan, the company collaborates with associations or headhunting agencies that allow us to access profiles like those that we are using at Fundación Integra,” adds Miguel Heras.
The hires made in the three months since signing the agreement with the foundation include people from different groups at the risk of social exclusion due to gender violence, disability, long-term unemployment, among others.
Commitment Integra is the network of companies committed to the socially responsible employment of Fundación Integra, which over 50 companies now form part of.
Through these companies, since 2001, Fundación Integra has provided over 14,000 jobs to people who are socially excluded, female victims of gender violence, homeless people, former drug addicts, and disabled people, for whom the job given to them by companies like Sacyr means regaining control of their life and having a future.
The collaboration with the Fundación Integra also includes Sacyr’s involvement in training these people through corporate volunteering in Fundación Integra’s School.
Thus, Sacyr staff can help to reinforce the beneficiaries’ social and employment skills and provide them with the tools they need to the most vulnerable people in society to improve their employability and increase their chances of finding work.
