Improving mobility in Florida and Texas

We are developing roads in two of the fastest-growing States in the country.

Carretera Florida y Texas

We are carrying out six road infrastructure projects, five in Florida and one in Texas, alleviating traffic in some of their most congested zones.
In Florida, we are widening the SR82 highway and remodeling a section of the I75 highway in the west of the State. We are rebuilding, remodeling and widening more than 12 km of road at the intersection of the I75 and SR70

We are designing and building three new roads in Miami-Dade county, south of Miami. We are also widening and improving two existing roads, including a new boulevard on Franjo Road.

In Jacksonville, we are building the First Coast Expressway, a new section of the SR-23, which includes 26 bridges. The longest, 300 meters long, will reach over the Black Creek river.

In Diboll, Texas, we are building a 13.2 km branch of the US59 highway, for the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT)

Sacyr Engineering and Infrastructures, Sacyr’s construction division, has won a contract to build an 11-km road in Florida (USA). The project, awarded by Collier County, has a 36-month deadline.

The road, Vanderbilt Beach Road Extension, is a roadway in southern Florida. Out of the total 11 km, 1.6 expand the existing road and the remaining 9.4 km are new construction. This project includes the reconstruction and reconditioning of Massey St and the excavation of a 3.2 km trench section to relocate the current one.

This new contract in Florida consolidates Sacyr’s growth in the US. Sacyr started its activities in 2018 with several road construction projects in Florida. Since then, Sacyr has won 14 projects in Florida and Texas, and it currently has a construction portfolio worth more than €1,000 million.

Delivered projects

In Texas, we recently completed the reconstruction and expansion of a 11.5 km section of the interstate highway IH35E, from Hillsboro to the Ellis County line for the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT).

The US$ 118 million project consisted of the widening of the road to three lanes in each direction, improving existing structures (ramps, bridges and dividing barriers) and upgrading the deteriorated pavement.

Apart from the SR23 in Jacksonville, Florida we have also recently delivered the SR21 and recieved the Final Acceptance certificate from the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT).

In total, Sacyr spent 130,000 man-hours to complete this US$16 million project that involved the widening and enhancement of the state road with the addition of an additional lane in each direction (six lanes in total). The development also included bike lanes, building a new bride over South Fork Black Creek and improvement of the drainage, lighting and signaling systems.
