Pamplona-Cúcuta road project: positive impact on rural Colombia

This new road infrastructure has social and environmental plans and programs that benefit more than 1,000 people in the area.

The Pamplona-Cúcuta project, developed by Concesionaria Unión Vial Río Pamplonita, from Sacyr Concesiones, is one of the critical road infrastructures for the development of Norte de Santander.

This project includes the new construction of a 50.2 km (divided and simple highway) and the rehabilitation of 72.2 km of pre-existing road between Pamplona and Betania, Los Patios.

These improvements will optimize mobility and reduce travel times as well as operating costs for users, ensuring a faster, safer, and more comfortable road corridor.

First Norte de Santander tunnel

The Pamplona tunnel is located in the section corresponding to Functional Unit 1 of the Pamplona-Cúcuta project. This tunnel is a 1,400m-long infrastructure with two directions and 924m-long emergency gallery with three access points.

Building future: our corporate volunteering program in Colombia

As part of this commitment, we have backed the integration and strengthening of the Cristo Rey district community, in Pamplona, and improved the conditions of education institutions by delivering school kits, beds and mattresses. We have also collaborated with Ayuda en Acción in a women’s empowerment program to help 45 women entrepreneurs and improve their living conditions thanks to the project.
