PY 02, the road that drives Paraguay's progress

This corridor will benefit more than 30,000 users, providing them with safer, more comfortable and free-flowing journeys.

PY 02 will benefit more than 30,000 users.

This project by Sacyr Concesiones will double the capacity of the old roads, Ruta 2 and Ruta 7, and will provide a solution to one of the most important road corridors in Paraguay. 

Ruta PY 02 covers 170 km of roads, which will be widened and improved. The concessions company will also operate and maintain the infrastructure. The contract includes the construction of five alternative routes between the cities of Asunción and Caaguazú. 

Approximately 65% of the country's population, more than 4 million people, live in the area crossed by the PY 02.

A milestone in the history of Paraguay

This project is the result of the biggest civil engineering contract in the history of Paraguay, secured through the Public-Private Partnership (p3) Law, and the first of its kind to be executed here. Furthermore, the works carried out to widen and extend the road, which began in 2019, employ over 1,000 people. There are over 400 machines working on the road.

First emergency escape route in Paraguay

We built the first emergency escape lane in Paraguay at Rutas del Este

This infrastructure is located in the downhill grade section of the Caacupé mountain with the goal of aiding drivers in the event that they need to safely stop their vehicles and prevent accidents.
