Sacyr, top 5 company in the construction and engineering sector on S&P Sustainability Yearbook 2024

  • Sacyr obtained the Industry Mover badge for achieving an improvement in its score of at least 5% and accomplishing the strongest improvement in its industry.
  • S&P Global assesses over 9,400 companies all over the world on their ESG performance.

S&P Global’s Sustainability Yearbook 2024, situated Sacyr as the top 5 company in the construction and engineering sector worldwide for its performance in ESG best practices. 

The Sustainability Yearbook 2024 assessed over 9,400 companies from 62 industries all over the world. Only 759 companies are listed in the Yearbook.

This year, Sacyr also obtained the Industry mover badge, for achieving an improvement in its score of at least 5% and accomplished the strongest improvement in their industry. 

To be listed in the Yearbook, companies must submit the Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) survey and score within the top 15% of their industry and must achieve an S&P Global Sustainability Score within 30% of their industry's top-performing company.

Committed to sustainability

Sacyr being included in the Sustainability Yearbook 2024 demonstrates the company’s commitment to sustainability, one of the cornerstones of its 2021-2025 Strategic Plan. Among other noteworthy feats, Sustainalytics ESG Risk Rating ranked Sacyr as the best infrastructure company in Spain, and CDP gave Sacyr a “double A” score, the highest possible in climate change fighting practices and water security.

The company has set for itself the goal to become carbon neutral by 2050 and aims to raise its environmental protection investment by 50% by 2025.
