The No. 3 Line on the Guadalajara Light Railway network makes an outstanding contribution to Mexico’s transport and mobility sector. This project develops a more efficient system, which benefits passengers. This new line allows them to travel to the historic districts of Guadalajara, Zapopan and Tlaquepaque in a single journey, connecting central areas to the outskirts of the city.
It is estimated that this line carries 233,000 passengers every day, who can now save 40 minutes on their journey time. The line runs over 21.5 km and includes 18 stops, including 13 elevated (on 2 viaducts) and 5 underground stations.
This project is looking to the mobility of the future, reducing vehicular journeys, minimizing pollution, and offering affordable, safe, and efficient transportation to the people of Guadalajara. And not just this: the new line also opens up new economic opportunities for the outskirts of the city.
