Xiana Méndez, the Secretary of State for Trade, gave today the COFIDES Award 'Internationalization and Development' in the category Overseas Project by a Large Corporation to Manuel Manrique, Chairman of Sacyr. This award recognizes Sacyr "for its extensive international experience, its optimal level of activity, its innovation capacity, as well as for its commitment to business excellence and sustainability".
When collecting the award, Manuel Manrique highlighted "the importance of collaboration between international financial institutions, multilateral banking and Cofides, to consolidate our intarnational expansion, for the common good, and also of the small and medium-sized enterprises that support us in these projects".
"We are undertaking our international expansion with an increasing focus on more ambitious social and environmental goals, that make our investments a driver for development and positive impact, creating fair work, quality jobs, and ensuring that the entire value chain is aligned with these objectives. This award is an idicator that we are on the right path and is an encouragement for us to stay on it", he added.
COFIDES is a state-owned trading company that manages state funds, as well as its own resources, and resources from third parties to contribute to the internationalization of Spanish companies, promote the economic development, and aid the companies affected by the COVID-19.
