The Acorn consortium, consisting of Sacyr, Kajima Partnerships and Aberdeen was the selected participant to do the design, financing and maintenance of the new cancer hospital in Velindre (Wales, United Kingdom).
The new Velindre Cancer Center will have approximately 32,000 m2 of building surface, and will offer specialized services. Velindre Cancer Center will be a reference center in Wales, as it will have state-of-the-art technologies for the treatment of different types of cancer and will improve assistance for the patients.
Sustainability
The hospital will be a sustainable infrastructure, not only for its high energy efficiency, but because the design will also take the landscape and the protection of the natural surroundings into account.
Throughout its history, Sacyr has built 60 hospitals across the world, nine of which are under a P3 scheme.
This is the company’s first P3 project in the United Kingdom, a priority market in the 2021-2025 Strategic Plan.
